Sony A7C R review: The ultimate travel camera?
If you're after a small, interchangeable-lens camera to carry around day-to-day and take on your travels, the A7C R is a compelling, albeit pricey choice. Identical in every way to the A7C II save for its higher-resolution 61MP sensor, the A7C R can handle almost any photography scenario with ease, while its video spec is very respectable. Having those extra pixels to play with will appeal to landscape photographers, and gives you plenty of scope to crop into pictures, adding versatility to your lens of choice. Such a small form-factor compromises handling when compared to an SLR-style mirrorless camera like the A7R V; there's no AF joystick, while the viewfinder is small and fiddly. However, as a travel camera, the A7C R might well be the most capable snapper available.- Best current Sony Alpha sensor in a compact body
- Fantastic subject-tracking autofocus performance
- Decent battery life
- Much pricier than the A7C II
- Awkward viewfinder
- Not designed for use with large lenses

Sony a7CR review: high resolution in a small package
The Sony a7CR features the same best-in-class high-resolution full-frame image quality and industry-leading autofocus performance as the gold award-winning a7R V in a smaller, lighter, more affordable package. The EVF could be better and an AF joystick would be nice, but build quality and battery life impress, making this a great choice for landscape and outdoor adventure shooters.- Those wanting the highest level of Raw detail from a full-frame camera in a small package. Landscape and adventure photographers. Studio photographers working tethered.
- Those who appreciate a decently large, high-resolution EVF. Filmmakers requiring the best 4K video performance.

Sony a7CR (Review Sony a7CR)
How many megapixels can a small camera have?- Lightweight magnesium body with swing-out display, Full-frame 60MP sensor, AI-powered autofocus, All-day battery life, 7-stop IBIS system, PixelShift mode captures 240MP photos
- Viewfinder isn't nearly as good as the a7R V's, Single memory card slot, Omits dedicated focus control, Sensor readout speed limits e-shutter and video modes
Sony A7CR Review
if you’re looking for an interchangeable lens compact with a large sensor and huge resolution, look no further.- Huge 60MP effective resolution, Rugged camera construction, Angle adjustable LCD screen, Sony’s system is supported by a huge range of lenses and accessories
- A sizeable asking price to go with the sizeable resolution, Single card slot for SD, A quality lens makes the camera a fair amount weightier and bulkier
Sony A7C R Review (2024): A Full Frame Travel Camera
Sony’s light, compact, high-resolution camera is the perfect travel companion.- Small and light, even with a lens. Fantastic 61-MP sensor with great detail. Best-in-class autofocus and subject tracking. Solid video features. Ergonomic, comfortable design. Good battery life.
- Viewfinder is small. Expensive.
Sony a7cR Review: My Favorite Sony Camera So Far
The Sony a7cR is a camera that I didn’t believe would actually be a real thing. But indeed, it is. It’s actually a pretty great camera overall — however targeted at an audience that, well, I’m scratching my head about that statement.- It’s a nice shutter sound similar to a rangefinder camera, The menu screen can be enlarged, and that’s awesome, The touchscreen menu’s ability to navigate quickly nearly rivals Canon now. But it’s still not as fast to navigate.
- Only 1/4000 shutter speed max mechanical, The EVF isn’t as nice as many other newer cameras, There’s banding for sure at high ISOs, You can miss shots in low light with exposure preview mode on, Battery life is greatly affected by the weather and how hot or cold it is, Taking off the live view...
Sony A7C R review: 'R' is for 'Ridiculous'
There's no such thing as a perfect product, but if you're in the market for a super-compact full-frame camera, with a detailed sensor, great video performance and flawless object tracking and autofocus, there's not much out there that comes close to the new A7CmR. You'll need to pay a hefty sum to get hold of one, but it may well just be a price worth paying. /39363775/PocketLint/Article_InContent_Desktop googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1494450502098-ccr-REPEAT13'); });- Incredible image sharpness and detail
- Compact, lightweight design
- Great autofocus and subject-tracking features
- It's consistent and reliable for stills and video
- It's pricey
- Only one SD card slot
Sony A7CR Review | The Ultimate Landscape Photography Camera For Adventure & Travel
All in all, there is no denying that the Sony A7CR is a specialized camera. It’s very similar to the much more affordable Sony A7C II, so if you’re looking at the 61-megapixel version of these twins, it must be for the sensor. Furthermore, such high resolution does come at a cost.
