Versatil and great for portable uses and desktop backups... Love the brand and this is the most quiet HD i ever used!!

Stopped working after only 6 weeks!!! Lost my data!!! Gutted!! This is the 3rd one I've purchased, but the only one to go wrong. Please buy with caution. I run 2 so I have a double back-up, but it has lost my final week's worth of data.

Purchased this unit for use as a fourth external backup unit using the Firewire connector. The Best Buy techie said that it was pre-formatted as NTFS. On connecting, using disk management utility, received message that disk was not initialized. Initialized and formatted partition.
