A No Holds Barred Review of the (3rd Gen) iPad (2012)

Apple called its first iPad tablet "magical," as if owning one would turn flatulence into a flowery fragrance and unlock the mystery of double complete rainbows. • Stunningly gorgeous 2048x1536 Retina display
  • Quad-core graphics engine is really flipping fast

  • Twice the amount of RAM (1GB) as before
  • Now supports 4G LTE (optional

  • or USB ports
  • FaceTime camera stinks
  • Slightly thicker and heavier (nitpicking here

New Apple iPad 3 Review

Whilst the battery life is very good, one thing didn't actually happen whilst I was charging my iPad. I plugged in my iPad, which had about 51% left, and in the space of 20 minutes it had only increased to 52% whilst the screen was still on.

A hard and especially long day slowly comes to an end. This is time to draw a preliminary conclusion. What is left of the initial euphoria after the first tests? Above all else, the excellent Retina screen has to be mentioned.

Cons:
  • As always in iOS devices - a bit more openness

Apple iPad (3rd-Gen): The TechSpot Review

As was widely anticipated, Apple unveiled the third-generation iPad last March 7 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Analysts speculated that we would see the iPad 3 or perhaps the iPad HD but Cupertino defied all in attendance by simply calling it "the new iPad."
Pros:
  • Retina display resolution is unmatched
  • Great performance
  • Solid operating system and software ecosystem
  • 4G support
  • Same price
Cons:
  • The iPad remains a closed device on many levels and that's something you must live with once you enter Apple's world

Apple iPad 3 review: Hotter than ever

So, the iPad is dead, long live the iPad. That's also part of the deal. The retirement of the first-generation of the Apple tablet is nothing out of the ordinary. There used to be the iPad and the iPad 2. Now, we have the iPad and the iPad 2 is the backup, the second choice. The new iPad.

Cons:
  • iTunes still required for uploading most of the content
  • Reflective screen struggles outdoors
  • Same CPU as the iPad 2
  • Heavier and thicker than the iPad 2
  • No Flash support in the web browser
  • No standard USB port
  • Non replaceable battery
  • No stereo loudspeakers
  • No GPS receiver in the Wi-Fi

Apple iPad (3rd Generation) Review

The anticipation for a new gadget can often be more exciting than getting the actual product in your hands. Apple's new iPad definitely offers some nice updates with the Retina display, 4G and improved camera, but is it a worthy upgrade for someone that already has an iPad 2?
Pros:
  • Gorgeous display
  • Improved camera
  • 4G option
  • Fits in most iPad 2 cases you may already have
  • Bluetooth 4.0 will use less power and be a lighter drain on the battery
Cons:
  • Thicker and heavier
  • Runs a little warmer than the iPad 2

New iPad review – it's fantastic!

The hype is warranted. The new iPad is everything they said it would be. In a word – fantastic! I got me a white 64GB iPad with 4G LTE last week, a top of the line iPad, a unit from Singapore.

If you read onscreen, then going back to the iPad 2 after using the new iPad even for an hour or two is going to feel like the worst kind of pain. The text clarity is just that much better.
