Apple iPad (Verizon) review - Retina display and 4G LTE
While many might have been surprised by the new Apple iPad's lack of a unique name, few of us were shocked to see that Apple has upped the ante in the largely one-sided tablet wars by adding a better than 1080p HD resolution display and 4G LTE data to the new iPad.
Pros:
- Beautiful industrial design
- gorgeous Retina display
- fast 4G LTE data
- solid camera
- good battery life
Cons:
- Thicker and heavier than the iPad 2
- runs a tad warm
- no microSD memory card slot

Apple iPad 3
Apple has done a fine job with the iPad 3rd generation; it is a major upgrade from the iPad 1, and a middle of the road upgrade from the iPad 2. The stability of the IOS is still there, aside from the occasional app crash and Apple bashing article on how IOS is not as functional as Android.
Pros:

Apple iPad (3rd generation)
This year, it's all about the screen. The third-generation iPad has lots of other improvements but it's the brilliance of the display which leaps out at you as soon as you wake the screen. Apple has come in for some criticism that the new iPad doesn't offer as many new features as some had hoped.
Pros:
- Screen
- HSPA+
- faster processor
- largest number of tablet specific apps
Cons:
- No weight reduction over previous model
- no increase in battery life
- high resolution apps take up more storage space

Apple iPad (2012)
was to break down the barriers between us and our content, whether it's the Web, photos, movies or games. Like any conclusion to a compelling trilogy, the third-generation iPad aims to complete that vision with a display so stunning that you nearly forget you're using a gadget.
Pros:
- Fantastic Retina display
- Sharp 5-MP camera with 1080p video
- Speedy 4G LTE data
- Improved AirPlay functionality
- Best tablet app selection
Cons:
- Bottom left side gets warm
- Can't FaceTime over 4G
- 50MB limit for iTunes downloads over 4G
- Front camera doesn't do HD

Apple new Ipad
'Resolutionary' display Apple has coined this new term to highlight the upgraded screen in the new Ipad, which is indeed impressive. The 9.7in Retina LED-backlit widescreen display packs 2048x1536 pixels, equating to 3.1 million pixels at a rate of 264 pixels per inch.
Pros:
- High-quality display
- responsive
- fast performance
- good battery life
- lightweight
Cons:
- 4G not available in UK yet
- lack of killer new feature means this isn't a must-have upgrade for Ipad 2 owners
- but viewed as a standalone tablet it's the best around
- We would have liked a different name
