First review: The new Apple iPad for 2012

Apple's new iPad may not be the most revolutionary change the company has produced, but it's certainly an evolutionary update that will please anyone buying a tablet. New camera for the new iPad on the right, featuring a wider aperture than the camera on the iPad 2 (left).
Pros:
  • Astoundingly clear screen
  • Dual-channel 3G is faster than you realise
  • Compatible with quite a few of the iPad 2 cases
Cons:
  • No LED flash for the rear camera
  • FaceTime front camera is still VGA

Apple iPad (new) Review

There's something intimate about using an iPad, and the real-life quality of that retina display enhances it even further. "Well, it's got a new screen" isn't a ringing endorsement of what makes the new iPad great – but actually, that's exactly why you want this tablet.
Pros:
  • Incredibly sharp
  • realistic display super-enhances movies
  • gaming
  • web and photos
  • gorgeous hardware and software design
  • 200,000 iPad-optimised apps
  • upgraded camera
Cons:
  • Comparatively little on-board storage
  • especially for a HD-media-oriented device
  • front-facing camera still only VGA quality

The new iPad 3 review

The iPad 3 is, without a doubt, the best consumer tablet currently available. The bump in internal hardware keeps it a hair ahead of the rest, but the new screen and astonishing battery life sets it far apart from any other tablet PC we've reviewed so far.

Apple iPad 3

If the tablet market of 2012 were a monarchy, then the iPad 3 Wi-Fi would be the one you'd find sitting comfortably atop the throne. The kingdom's crown jewel? You guessed it: a sweet, sweet apple with a little bite in it.

I own the 4th generation iPad 64 gig white!

If you want a tablet don't waste your time! Go to the king and get your iPad BUT do NOT get less memory than 64 gig (I'd spent the extra hundred and go with 128 if I were buying now). This is the most amazing piece of technology I have ever, ever owned!
Pros:
  • Everything! Beautiful
  • sleek
  • operates nearly flawlessly
  • great camera
  • and if you can find the app
  • it will do anything you want
Cons:
  • Apple needs to - must - give us a better way to select, copy, and edit text! The idea is great but fingers and text are not a good marriage
  • Apple, give us edit key - arrows! This is the only thing Microsoft does better
