The iPhone 12 mini is one of the only options for anyone looking for a compact flagship-grade smartphone. It delivers arguably the best camera at $729 / £699, and sports an excellent screen, rich design and plenty of power. Where it drops the ball is battery life.

Good features & great improvement on my old iphone SE
Often have difficulty in accepting incoming calls & occassionaly in dialling out with inumerable drop outs, not experienced with previous phone & in same locations

Released in November 2020, the Apple iPhone 12 mini is the smallest and lightest of the 12 line, weighing in at 4.76 ounces (135 grams) with a 5.4-inch display. It is not short on features, however. The Super Retina XDR screen is covered by Apple’s ceramic-reinforced glass.

The smol phone to beat.
Pros:
- It’s a baby iPhone. It’s fun to carry around. It’s easy to forget about. And unlike the small-ish iPhone SE, the iPhone 12 Mini has Apple’s newest chip, display, and camera system. Also: wireless charging.
Cons:
- Battery life is not as good as on a big phone. Speakers aren’t great either. Smaller screen is less optimal for extended video watching … but maybe that’s a good thing.
