Great noise isolation and no-worry battery-free power from the phone makes these my go-to work headphones.
The JBL Reflect Aware are in-ear headphones packed with up-to-date tech. They feature active noise cancellation and have an iPhone Lightning connector rather than a normal 3.5mm jack.
Energetic; fun sound; Comfortable
Relatively poor active noise cancellation; Overly bassy with ANC engaged; Some strange noises when using ANC; A little expensive
There's a lot to like about the JBL Reflect, particularly the fit, but some performance drawbacks hurt its value.
The JBL Reflect Aware in-ear sports headphones offer a secure, comfortable fit, are sweat-resistant, and have an integrated Lightning connector and reflective cord; They also feature active noise cancellation, and a companion app allows you to adjust ambient noise levels and customize EQ settings
Noise canceling isn't strong enough; Lightning connection draws a small amount of power from your phone and reduces battery life; no adapter included to plug the headphone into a standard headphone jack
JBL's Reflect Aware sports earphones are being marketed as noise-canceling, which makes them fairly unique -- but on top of that they're one of the first Lightning headphones. That means they have a Lightning connector on the bottom and plug directly into the Lighting port of iOS devices. So, for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus owners, that means no headphone dongle required.

For $200, the JBL Reflect Aware gets the sweatproof, exercise-friendly part right, and nails the audio thanks to a customizable EQ. We'll consider the so-so noise cancellation and ambient mics a harmless additional feature.
Lightning connector for Apple devices; Customizable EQ; Strong bass and crisp highs; Built-in noise cancellation and ambient mics; Sweatproof; Reflective design ideal for outdoor exercise
Average noise cancellation and ambient mics; Slightly expensive for what you get; No 3.5mm connection for non-Apple devices
Unless you've been living under a rock you'll have heard that Apple has dropped the standard headphone jack on its new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus handsets, instead pressing the Lightning port into service for audio output in addition to its existing charging and data transfer duties.
Battery-free noise cancelling; Good-fitting earbuds; Strong; powerful bass
Muddy sound; Poor sound separation
Despite the fact that we've already seen some headphones that use Apple's Lightning connection for audio, there's more interest now than ever due to the lack of a heaphone jack in the new iPhone 7 ($288.00 at Visible) and iPhone 7 Plus ($769.99 at Verizon) . That makes the $199.95 JBL Reflect Aware an especially well-time pair of exercise-focused earphones, as they use a wired Lightning connection to attach directly to your Apple device. On the audio front, JBL includes active noise cancellation, as well as the ability to mix in outside, ambient noise so you can better hear your surroundings. The noise cancellation and ambient mics are only decent for the price, but the earphones are saved by an excellent EQ function that allows you to get granular with audio settings and dial in your preferred sound signature. DesignAvailable in black, blue, green, or red, the sweatproof Reflect Aware ($95.99 at Amazon) look like a fairly unassuming addition to JBL's Reflect lineup. The earphone...

Just in case you hadn't heard (and shame on you if you haven't), it's strongly rumoured that Apple's iPhone 7 will be launched this week without a 3.5mm headphone jack. Headphones, instead, will connect directly via the iPhone 7's Lightning connector, and you can expect manufacturers to announce a...
Sporty types will find these particularly appealing thanks to the secure fit and water resistance, and though the on-board noise cancelling isn't outstanding, it does enough to put it on par with other in-ears we've heard. Most of all though, these in-ears deliver in the sound department.
Lively; engaging sound; Tight; punchy bass; Decent detail; Active noise-cancelling; Good fit; Water resistant
Treble lacks a bit of refinement; ANC could be better; Drains phone battery quicker with ANC on; A little pricey
