The OPPO A9 2020 does offer some very nice features especially for a mid-range device but there are also quite a few compromises that a majority of users might not be willing to overlook.

Remember the OPPO A7 we reviewed last year, it was well, not on par with the competition, in fact, it was one of the worst value for money smartphone of 2019. Now, they have launched its successor, the A9 2020 .

It has a 720p screen, and I usually expect to see a 1080p display at the price. However, the effect is less pronounced than I expected, and is offset by the size of the display. I'd rather watch a 15-minute YouTube video on the Oppo A9 2020 than a phone with a more advanced 5.5-inch screen.

The Oppo A9 2020 is not the most impressive phone around on paper. It has a 720p screen and costs more than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, which has a 1080p display. Only two of its four rear cameras are useful too, but two solid cameras at £220 isn’t bad. However, the screen is surprisingly decent-looking and there’s a good chance you’ll fall in love with the Oppo A9 2020’s battery life – I did.

Oppo A9 (2020) is the latest smartphone from Oppo mobile under the company's A-series, launched in September 2019. The device comes with interesting features such an upgraded Snapdragon CPU and the use of quad camera setup at the back.

The Oppo A9 2020 is proof that you don't need to pay a fortune for flagship features. With a killer battery, a classy design and a camera that's not to be sniffed at - we'd highly recommend this sub-£250 phone.
