Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra Cosmic Grey 128GB 5G SM-G988BZADNZO review
There's definitely a uncouth, almost brutal way in which the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra assaults the Android phone market in my mind, with it wielding hyper premium hardware, connectivity and camera specs like a barbarian warlord in the midst of battle.- Huge
- buttery smooth 120Hz screen
- Hyper-premium internal hardware spec
- Versatile
- feature-packed camera system
- Supports all 5G standards (sub-6
- mmWave
- NSA)
- Impressive Geekbench 5 and 3DMark scores
- Capacious 5,000 mAh battery stack
- Obviously
- the price
- which is very high
- Turn 120Hz on and battery life is affected
- Would you be better with a Note 10+?
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra Cosmic Grey 128GB 5G SM-G988BZADNZO review
Our first impression of the Galaxy S20 Ultra was that it was a wolf in sheep's clothing, with no big surprises. Overall, it's a solid package, but there is so much overkill here. Samsung has shoved all of its chips into the middle of the poker table and it's hasn't quite paid off.- Beautiful display
- Excellent everyday camera
- Strong 5x and 10x zoom
- Snappy performance
- Huge and cumbersome
- Gimmicky Space Zoom
- Weak Exynos chip (EU version)
- No 120Hz at WQHD+
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra Cosmic Grey 128GB 5G SM-G988BZADNZO review
The dilemma we have here is 'cost vs smartphone' as yes, it's a great device but at over £1000, it's hard to say it's 'excellent value for money'. But then again, if you compare it to some of the other smartphones available, it's not far off what they're priced at so does that make the price okay?- Great screen
- Good image quality
- Zoom up to 10x is excellent
- Fast charging
- No headphone socket
- Forget the zoom after 10x
- Expensive
- Size
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra review: Five months later, brains match brawn
Update: Five months after its initial release, Samsung has fixed bugs that dogged the camera system — and realized the promise of the ultimate smartphone. Samsung’s Galaxy S20 Ultra is a lavishly-equipped device with an extravagant price tag. $1,400 gets you an opulent 7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the best internals you could ask for in an Android phone, 5G compatibility with all the major networks and, perhaps most important, a monstrous camera setup. With 108MP on the main lens, 48MP on the telephoto camera, and up to 100× zoom, it’s clear which feature Samsung expects to deliver the knockout punch. But despite its robust stats, this heavyweight was initially held back from becoming the undisputed champ among the best camera phones this year due to bugs that plagued the cutting-edge camera system. Through a series of patches released in April and July, Samsung eventually addressed most of the camera issues. So do the brains finely match the brawn? Or should you look to t...- Big, gorgeous screen with 120Hz refresh rate
- Zoom lens frames up nice shots
- Battery life that breezes through a day
- Top notch internals with 5G for every major carrier
- Expensive
- Zoom system seems gimmicky
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra Cosmic Grey 128GB 5G SM-G988BZADNZO review
- Ecran lumineux
- Prix élevé
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra review
The market's wildest monster phone is called Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. But it's not necessarily just positive.- Lightning fast performance combined with 120 Hz display provides the most fluid user experience ever. The camera is the wildest we have tried, and then it comes with 5G.
- Boring and uninspiring design at a very high price. Missing 3.5 mm jack, while it is too many of the wild features that require compromises to work as intended.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra Cosmic Grey 128GB 5G SM-G988BZADNZO review
A few weeks ago ZDNet Editor-in-Chief Larry Dignan and I attended briefings with Samsung to get our first look at the Galaxy S20 lineup and for the past week I've been using a Cosmic Gray 128GB Samsung S20 Ultra 5G as my daily driver on T-Mobile.- Future-proof 5G network support
- Stunning large 120Hz display
- Solid cameras in most situations
- Good battery life
- Flawed camera software
- Huge phone and rear camera array
- Expensive
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra review
The year is off to a strange start, and mobiles haven’t quite been coming out at the pace we’ve expected. Australia has seen some brands drop out, while other phones have either decided to not turn up, and others again haven’t been as amazing as we’d like.- A big phone for people who love, well, big phones, Lovely screen, Decent battery life for a Samsung flagship, Support for 5G, Water resistant, Wireless charging
- It's a really big phone, Expensive, 100x camera is a gimmick you'll rarely use, Camera is slow to fire, Quality from camera doesn't really match its high-end price
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G review: Speaking the language of overkill
As far as flagships go, Samsung’s latest stands tall but it doesn’t stand alone. Even if it falls short of being the iPhone 11 Pro-inspired paradigm shift that it so obviously aspires towards, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is still a spec-beast of a phone that shows Samsung still has what it takes to be competitive in the high-end Android smartphone arena.- Capable camera
- Empowering software
- Flagship features
- Bulky form-factor
- Autofocus issues
- Inconsistent battery life
- Expensive price
- 2D Face Unlock
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G Review
Samsung has done a great job this year with their Galaxy S20 Ultra. It builds upon past Galaxy S devices but has some issues like it being an absolutely huge phone, a high price tag and the 100x Space Zoom feature being kind of useless.- Excellent 120Hz display, Long battery life, Quick performance thanks to 12GB of RAM, Great camera with good video and low-light performance, Large storage options plus a microSD card slot, 5G support
- Most expensive model in the S20 family, The in-display fingerprint sensor doesn’t work all the time, The phone is enormous in size, 100x Space Zoom is gimmicky
