The a6300 is Sony's latest and greatest compact system camera (CSC), and an update to the Sony a6000 . Back in 2014 I wrote that the a6000 "hits a home run for quality, performance, features and price", so the a6300 has big boots to fill.

Pros Fast, accurate autofocus Excellent image quality Improved viewfinder Full 4K video recording Large sensor 11fps burst Cons No touchscreen In-camera menus are quite long and confusing No headphone socket for monitoring audio High price-tag
Released roughly two years after the popular α6000 model (which we reviewed in August 2014, Sony's α6300 introduces a new sensor with 425 phase-detection AF points embedded in its surface, a significant improvement on the 179 AF points in the α6000's sensor.
Yes, its makers claim the A6300 is the fastest camera on the planet when it comes to autofocus, with its hybrid system and processor engine allowing it to lock onto subjects in just 0.05 seconds. I can't attest to that number myself (sorry, I just can't count that quickly!

Battery life could be better; No touchscreeninput; Menu system isn't the most user friendly
Top quality compact camera for pictures and v4k video. Highly recomended
Sony's new premium compact system camera features a 24.2-million-pixel sensor, fast AF tracking as well as 4K video capture. We take a first look at the Sony Alpha 6300.
I didn't use my DSLR much so I went for a smaller mirrorless camera instead. It does have a cropped sensor but takes great pictures and event better videos. The strap attachment makes jangling noises that come into the video
If you have no prior commitments to another photo system, the A6300 won't disappoint you for the money - but a lack of long focal lengths and a slightly-flawed approach means this camera isn't ready to replace everyone's SLR just yet.
I've had this camera for a little while now and it is very similar to the Sony A6000 that I had previously. It takes a little while to get to understand the menu system but it is very well organised and quite quickly you are able to move around the menus like a pro and get just the effect you are...
