The mirrorless or compact system camera category has been growing steadily over the past couple of years, and for good reason. These cameras DSLR levels of functionality and quality (depending on the sensor being used) in a compact body that's relatively easy to carry around.
Battery life could be better; No touchscreeninput; Menu system isn't the most user friendly
Sony's new premium compact system camera features a 24.2-million-pixel sensor, fast AF tracking as well as 4K video capture. We take a first look at the Sony Alpha 6300.
Four weeks ago at CES 2016 , Sony unveiled a bevy of new products, including a 4K handycam ( AX53 ), a new portable wireless speaker ( h.ear go ) and their "most beautiful 4K HDR TV." But despite the notability of those products, it appears Sony has saved its best for last.
The last five months have been really tough. I've been without my trusty Sony A6000 after it suddenly stopped working during my vacation in London last November. After what felt like forever, Sony finally announced the A6300 , the A6000's long-awaited successor. I pre-ordered one as soon as I could.
Sony had the right idea with its A6000 : It made a powerful mirrorless camera and sold it at a relatively affordable starting price. And people loved it, with Sony claiming it's been the world's best-selling mirrorless camera since it came out two years ago.
You can assign any of 65 functions to any of 10 customizable buttons as you like. This makes operation more intuitive, quick and easy, and is extra-convenient for accessing such functions as starting and stopping of movie recording and switching between viewfinder and monitor.
Along with the new G Master lenses , we got the chance to see the Sony a6300 at the recent European Press Event in Amsterdam. Unfortunately it was only a pre-production model so we couldn't take any pictures with it.
What format/codec does the 6300 output the video and what NLE software is recommended to use. Does the video file need to be converted first Would you recommend this camera for lifestyle television, keeping in mind to have a external sound recorder How is the 16-50mm lens that comes with it
