Better used as a paper weight....

.......absolutely useless...... constantly crashing or failing to back up, cant access remotely half the time and generally a waste of money. Given that i wanted a backup device for important office information I frankly have no faith in this product backing up my hard disks and being able to...

Good but Slow

Installed easily on two computers on the home network but it took an incredible amount of time for the first back-up to complete - 36 hours for 941GB over a wired Gigabit system!!! Way too slow.

Today will be call #4 with WD about this drive. Keeps dropping off the network with the host PC so I cannot get my files on it. Many reviews from other sites state the same so I am not confident that I will keep this bad product long...

WD My Cloud 2TB

Western Digital's My Cloud has done more than any other device to popularise the idea of a NAS as a personal cloud, and you won't find a cheaper or smaller way of getting one up and running.

Western Digital My Cloud 2TB review

The Western Digital My Cloud is a NAS with a single 2TB hard disk, and is designed for those who simply want to access files over their network or remotely over the internet. Setting up the My Cloud is simple.

Completely unreliable

Looks like a great idea, but the product is so unreliable that we've basically just stopped using it. I've had to factory reset it twice (on customer services recommendation), which wipes out all user accounts. My partner hasn't been able to log in to it since the first week we had it.

good for file sharing but useless for media streaming via DLNA

I bought this networked hard drive so that I could stream music and videos to both computers and smart tv's. It was a handy way of sharing files without having to remove and connect hard drives all the time. Although the premise of the product is appealing, it does have some shortfalls.

I found it a bit difficult to learn how to use it With a bit more examination of the user's manual that I printted out I anticipate that it will meet my needs

Review: WD My Cloud

It's more than a little disingenuous to call WD's latest storage product the ‘My Cloud'. Touted as a "cloud of your own" in the marketing bumpf, it's really no different than many other internet accessible NAS devices we've reviewed in the past.
